Qualcomm techie runs away from home after losing in online gambling

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old techie ran away from home after he lost huge money in online gambling at Yadav Nagar in Malkajgiri of Hyderabad.

Identified as Nagadharani Dutt, he is working as a software engineer at Qualcomm at Hi-tech city in the city. Police said he had a tiff with his mother after she refused to pay him money for online gambling on Saturday night. On Sunday morning he left home in a huff and went missing.

Police said for the past few months, he was addicted to online gambling and had lost huge money. On Saturday night, he came home and picked up an argument with his mother demanding Rs 80,000 for gambling.

Upset over not getting the money he left his home and did not return. Later in the morning, his wife saw a message on her WhatsApp. The message stated that he wanted to die because he has lost job and all the money in gambling. He also messaged that he has left his phone on the bike phone cover.

His family found his mobile on the bike cover and started looking for him. Malkajgiri police have registered a missing case and launched a search for him.
