Rachakonda cops arrest burglars, recover items worth Rs. 17L

Hyderabad: The Medipally police arrested two burglars on 28 August and recovered items worth more than Rs. 17 lakh from them.

Rituraj Singh and Gaya Prasad Sen were arrested on Friday at Boduppal and both confessed to their crimes. The cops seized 26 tolas of gold, 2.5 kg of silver, two motorcycles, Rs. 2 lakh cash, and a laptop. The items recovered amounted to Rs. 17,40,000, the police said.

A resident of Madhya Pradesh, Rituraj Singh has been committing burglaries since 2006. He has been jailed several times in various districts of MP, including Indore, Sagar, Maihar, Dhamua, Satna, Kothwali, and Jabalpur, according to the police.

Gaya Prasad Sen, also a resident of MP, came to Hyderabad in January 2020 with Rituraj. They lived at Pedda Shapur in Shamshabad. Both worked at Alepally where they committed four burglaries under the Shamshabad and Maheshwaram police limits.

Gaya Prasad has also been accused in a murder case in Jabalpur. He was in jail for the same until 2017.
