Hyderabad: Rachakonda police have arrested an undertrial, who escaped from the police custody when he was being taken to Cherlapally Central Prison, on Sunday.

On Saturday, Motta Durgaprasad was arrested by the Cybercrime wing for sending sexually explicit photos and messages to an advocate. He was booked under section 354 D, 509 IPC, and 67A of the IT Act.

After his arrest, head constable V Ramachander and constable Srinivas Ra of Cybercrime unit were taking Durgaprasad to the Central Prison, Cherlapally.

When the duo alighted to submit the documents to the prison authorities, he jumped from the police van and escaped.

The escort party immediately complained to Kushaiguda police station. On Sunday, he was nabbed from MGBS bus station Hyderabad when he was trying to board a bus to Nagarkurnool district.

Later, he was produced before the court and lodged in Cherlapally central prison on Sunday evening.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Durgaprasad is addicted to porn and he used to collect mobile numbers of women from social media platforms and send them sexually explicit content on WhatsApp.

Later he used to blackmail innocent women asking them to send him their nude pictures or else he would post their mobile numbers on porn websites, police said.

In 2017, he was arrested under similar charges at Miyapur in the city.
