With 2021 Assembly elections round the corner, all eyes would be on Rajinikanth, who announced that he will fight the polls alone. Amidst speculations that BJP leadership had urged Rajinikanth to head the TN unit of the BJP, sources close to Rajinikanth and sympathisers say that Superstar is all geared up to start his new party anytime soon (early next year).
Speaking to us, a close source to Rajinikanth, said, 'Neither Thalaivar was approached to join the party, nor Rajnikanth is ready to join them. We are in our own path. Work is on to float a new party. Rajini Makkal Mandram is working round-the-clock to enrol new members. Appointment of office-bearers is almost over. Booth-level committee workers are being appointed'.
Rajinikanth is clear about his priorities. For now, he will be shooting for Darbar. He has another movie to complete (Siruthai Siva to direct it). May be by March next year, his works will speed up. He will hold mega-conference at four zones in Tamil Nadu. Reach out to people in his own style'.
Buzz is that a team of men are working behind the screen round-the-clock already for establishing RMM as a political party.
Sources say, 'Rajinikanth had supported the good works done by Modi and Amit Shah. But that doesn't mean, he has joined them or willing to accept their request'.
Even the likes of Congress leaders S Thirunavukkarasar and Karate Thygarajan said Rajinikanth will float a new party and would not join BJP.
The political climate will be heated up next year when Rajinikanth formally announces his entry by floating a new party.
