Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan join hands for a film

Hyderabad: Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan are the two pillars of Tamil cinema. Even after several decades, they continue to woo the audience with their brand of films and still remain on top. Now, the two actors are going to join hands for a film. No, it is not what you think. They will not be sharing screen space with each other but will be associated with a film.

According to reports, Rajinikanth has signed a film for Kamal Haasan's production banner Raaj Kamal Films International. This new project will be directed by none other than the young Lokesh Kanagaraj, who gave the blockbuster flick Kaithi (Khaidhi in Telugu). Reportedly, Superstar was mighty impressed with Lokesh's work in the film and called up to appreciate him.

Eventually, he also asked if he has a script in mind. And when Lokesh narrated the film, he was blown away and agreed to do the film. Similarly, Kamal Haasan also watched Kaithi and quickly signed Lokesh Kanagaraj to do a film for his banner. This untitled project will kickstart in the second half of 2020.

A couple of months ago, Kamal Haasan revamped his production house as it stepped into the 50th year. At a recent award function, Kamal appreciated Lokesh and stated that Kaithi's victory is his as Lokesh was inspired by Kamal Haasan's brand of films and ventured into the film industry. However, an official confirmation regarding this big project is yet to be made by the team.

Presently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with the shooting of his upcoming film Master, which has Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Rajinikanth is also shooting for his 168th film with director Siruthai Siva. Once they complete their respective films, they will start working on their project.
