Rakshabandhan journey turns fatal

Hyderabad: Three members of a family returning home after Rakshabandhan celebration has died and one more injured, in an accident at Moinabad on the city outskirts on Thursday evening. The mishap occurred when a JCB hit the bike they were riding on.

According to Moinabad police officials, P Balreddy, his wife Jyoti, and their children Ramchandar and Siri, from Shadnagar, had gone to Chevella on Thursday morning, as Jyoti wanted to tie Rakhi for her brothers at Chevella.

After the ceremony, they started back home on their bike. Halfway through their journey, as they reached Nakkapalli village at Moinabad, the JCB coming from the opposite direction hit their bike. Balreddy, Jyoti and Siri died on the spot while Ramchandra sustained injuries. Police registered a case against the JCB driver and have started an investigation.
