Different films are in different stages of production and as of now, he is busy shooting for Virata Parvam, a Telugu film which is being directed by Venu Udugula. Sai Pallavi is playing the leading lady in this film which has Nanditha Das in a key role.

Reports suggest that the shoot of the film has commenced in a Kerala forest and some crucial shots are being canned here. Major action scenes which involve the lead team are being shot here. Rana unveiled the first look of the film recently. The film is produced by Suresh Productions and Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Creations.

Virata Parvam is said to be a multilingual project which will release in both Telugu and Tamil. It is said that the film is based in the backdrop of 1990s and is something related to the Telangana movement that happened back then.

Also, recently, Sai Pallavi’s look from the film was leaked online from the sets of the film where she was spotted wearing a traditional half sari, seated in a bus stop, carrying a bag with her and looks all set to travel. Initially, Tabu was roped in to play a key role in this film. But her schedules were so packed with Ala Vaikunthapuramlo and Jawaani Jaaneman that she walked out of Virata Parvam. Later, Nanditha Das replaced Tabu.

Besides Virata Parvam, Rana has Haathi Mere Saathi also in his kitty, for which he is shooting simultaneously. Hiranyakashyap is also underway and pre-production is going on at a brisk pace.

He chose to walk out of Bhuj: The Pride of India due to health issues. He might take a couple of months to recover and Sharad Kelkar has replaced him. Further details are awaited.
