Record Officer of Deputy Inspector of Schools in ACB trap

Hyderabad: The Anti Corruption Bureau has trapped a Record Assistant in the office of Deputy Inspector of Schools in Saidabad Range for demanding bride of Rs 10,000. The accused officer was caught in his office on February 15 while accepting the bribe amount from complainant Gazanfar Ali Khan. The officer demanded bribe for remitting an amount of Rs 1.26 lack which was deducted towards income tax from the rental income of the complainant into income tax amount of the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Saidabad range, in order to enable the complainant to claim I T refund.
On the instruction of the accused officer, the complainant kept Rs 10,000 inside a book which was on the officer’s table. The officer later removed the bribe amount. However, a test conducted by ACB on the book proved positive.
The accused officer has been arrested by ACB and produced before the special Judge for ACB cases in Hyderabad.
