Retired IAS officer C Partha Sarathi is Telanganas new election commissioner

Hyderabad: The government of Telangana has appointed retired IAS officer C Partha Sarathi as state election commissioner for a period of three years from the day the officer resumes office. It is pertinent to note that the appointment comes ahead of municipal elections in Greater Hyderabad and other urban bodies in Telangana.

The newly appointed SEC last served as the director general of Environment Protection Training and Research Institute. The 1993 batch IAS officer served in various capacities in Telangana and undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Holding an M.Sc (Agriculture) in Agronomy degrees the officer began his journey as a director for DRDA Project in Adilabad. Later, he served as collector of Karimnagar. Going by his profile he worked as the Managing Director, Markfed, Commissioner, Information and Public Relations, Project Director, AP AIDS Control Society, Commissioner, Civil Supplies, Vice Chancellor, Telangana University, Telangana State Horticultural University, and Dr BR Ambedkar Open University.
