RIP Vinay: White tiger dies in Hyderabad  zoo

The Royal Bengal White Tiger , named Vinay passed away at the Nehru Zoological park, Hyderabad, he was 21 years old.

Vinay who became part of the Hyderabad Zoo family in 1998 died on August 5th at around 10. 45 PM, reportedly suffered with old age complication and lameness since 2018. Over the period of 5 years he was kept off-public display owing to his illness.

The Bengal white tiger was born to father Murugan and Mother Karuna.

“Vinay was under intensive care at summer house of the Zoo. Since 2nd of August it was under lateral recumbence followed by fluid therapy since, however it took it last breath on Monday night” said Dr. S.A. Asadullah, VAS of Zehru Zoo.

The post morteum report indicated death due to Senility–“ASPHEXIA” (Senility induced Asphexia) . The Zoo Vetneairy wing collected samples and sent to VBRI, Shantinagar, Hyderabad and Veterinary College, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad for detailed investigation.
