Rowdy-sheeter murdered in Tirupati

Tirupati: A 38-year-old rowdy-sheeter and an accused in a murder case was murdered by some unidentified persons near Leela Mahal Centre here late Saturday night.

The victim, identified as Murali alias Belt Murali, was found in a pool of blood with injuries on his head and other parts.

The police said that the attackers accosted him with iron rods, stabbed him and smashed his head and fled from the spot. On hearing commotion at the area, the locals rushed to the spot where they found him in a pool of blood. The locals informed the police who reached the spot and pressed into service sniffer dogs and Clues teams to collect evidence.

Inspector of Police, Tirupati East Police Station, Siva Prasad Reddy said that Murali, a native of Sanjay Gandhi Colony, was accused (A-2) in the December 2017 murder of Bhargav. On Saturday night, Murali along with his friend went to SK Fast Food Centre area on a bike and asked his friend to buy liquor. When the friend went, some unidentified masked persons came to the spot and attacked Murali with an iron rod and knives and fled from the spot. Murali collapsed and died of multiple injuries.

The police are suspecting that old-rivalry could be the reason and also suspect that Bhargav’s friends could have eliminated Murali for revenge.

The police collected CCTV footage to identify the assaulters. Murali is survived by his wife, Satya, and three children. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case against few persons under Section 302 of IPC and investigation is on.
