‘Save land-Save Vizag’ sign campaign demands probe into land scam

Visakhapatnam: A signature campaign “Save land-Save Vizag” kicked off by people’s organisation which has garnered the support of 500 Vizagites demanding a thorough inquiry into the huge land scam that occurred during the TDP regime in Vizag.
The volunteers supporting the campaign said that probe should be done into Vizag land scam just as the AP government has been demanding a CBI inquiry into the Amaravati land scam basing on a report submitted by the Cabinet sub-committee.
Prasad, one of the volunteer who joined the campaign, said: “Lands of many people were encroached in the multi-core Vizag land scam but the government had been non-chalant towards the illegal activity. We demand that stern action be taken against the encroachers.”
Another volunteer, Pradeep, said: “It is high time that the government initiate action
Against the land mafia. Vizagites have to stand together to save Vishakhapatnam. A probe has to be launched to expose the corrupt politicians and influential persons involved in encroaching.”
Along with the signature campaign, City Speak also launched helpline no. 08061160422 through which volunteers can give a missed call and take part in the initiative.
