Schools to reopen on August 3 in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that schools in Andhra Pradesh will reopen on August 3 for the academic year 2020-21. The government and private schools in Andhra Pradesh have been closed since March 23, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Chief Minister, on Tuesday, asked the officials to provide nine kinds of facilities in 15,715 schools by July. A total of Rs 456 crore will be released for providing facilities before reopening of the schools. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the district collectors to review the progress of works in all the schools and to complete the works by July.

The Andhra Pradesh government will issue further guidelines on reopening of the schools to maintain the social distancing norms to spread the coronavirus.
