Hyderabad : A 17-year-old intermediate student committed suicide after he was allegedly scolded by his father for going out with his friends, at Meerpet in Hyderabad.

Son of GHMC contract labor K Yadaiah, he was studying in the first year intermediate at Chaitanya College in Balapur. Even during the lockdown, he was allegedly roaming with his friends.

On his return, his father scolded him. Shiva Kumar rushed to his bedroom and locked it from inside. As he did not come out for a long time, Yadaiah went to call him. When there was no response he peeped through the window and found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan. Yadaiah told police that his son took the extreme step after he scolded him for roaming outside.
