Several injured as Inter students clash at Palakonda town in AP

Srikakulam: A broad daylight street-side brawl between junior and senior Intermediate students of Tamminaidu college at Palakonda in Srikakulam district, led to many getting injured and traffic coming to a standstill and the incident going viral on the social media.

The incident took place on the main road of Palakonda town Friday evening. Though it happened very close to the police station, none reached the spot.

Locals said that a junior and senior Intermediate student had an argument over a small accident on the road. The junior student on a bike hit a senior student, which saw him retaliate.

Apparently upset, the junior student along with classmates and friends went to the senior student, who was with his friends. In the resultant melee, they beat each other even as some witnesses recorded and uploaded in the social media.

Ironically, the management of the college and the police failed to take any action against the students citing that it was a sensitive issue. They began investigation only after the incident was being flashed on social media.
