Showroom permit of Kodela’s son cancelled for unpaid taxes of sold vehicles

Hyderabad: Former Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao is still sailing in troubled waters. The government of Andhra Pradesh has cancelled the permit of Gowtham Automotives on Thursday. The showroom which is in Guntur belongs to Sivaram, son of Dr Kodela.

The RTA officials conducted raids on the showroom on August 2 and found that the life tax and registration tax of the sold vehicles had not been paid to the government. The officers seized the showroom for avoiding to pay an amount of Rs. 40.28 lakh for 576 vehicles for the last two years.

The showroom owners came forward to pay the taxes, but the government has decided to cancel the permit of the showroom.

It must be recalled that a case was registered at Tullur police station on Dr. Kodela and his son for shifting Assembly furniture to their showroom. Assembly Chief Marshal Ganesh Babu was also sacked and sent to his parent department over this issue.
