Six arrested for abducting business man Ramakrishna Raju in Hyderabad, toy pistol seized

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police on Monday arrested six people involved in the kidnapping of S.Ramakrishna Raju.

The accused were identified as Dhamera Hariprasad, Gaddam Rama Shiva Shankar Varaprasad, Arikella Shyam alias Shaker, Ajmeera Mohan, Perak Sanjeev and Edella Rajashekar.

On August 27, S.Ramakrishna Raju filed a petition stating that six unknown persons kidnapped him from his car at Kompally underpass road and demanded Rs.4 crores as ransom. After 6 hours of high drama, kidnappers dumped him near Ghatkeswar.

On receiving the complaint, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, VC Sajjanar formed special teams to apprehend the accused.

Police immediately swung into action and arrested all the accused from Medchal. Police said one Swift Tour Car, one motorcycle, and two toy pistols that were used in the commission of offence were also recovered.

The incident occurred on August 27 when S.Ramakrishna Raju was travelling in his car. When he reached near Kompally underpass road, the accused pulled out a toy pistol and forced him to stop the car. They tied him on the backseat before whisking away from the spot.

The abductors took the victim to a room and administrated a vitamin injection feigning it as poison. They demanded Rs. 4 crores and threatened that if he fails to pay the ransom, they won't give him an anti-dote shot

After Ramakrishna started crying, the accused freed him with a condition to arrange money in a week’s time.
