Chennai: Special puja’s were performed at the Thingalur Chandran temple, one of the nine Navagraha temples, in Thanjavur district to establish contact with Lander Vikram on Monday.
According to agency reports, Monday is considered very auspicious for the Moon God and special pujas and abhishekhams are being performed.
According to temple manager, V. Kannan a special abhishekham was performed on Monday morning to seek the divine blessings of the Moon God ‘Chandran’ to help establish contact with the Lander Vikram.
It may be recalled that the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (Isro) Chandrayaan-2 mission suffered a setback when contact with Vikram Lander was lost on Saturday early morning. The lander was expected to make a soft landing on the Moon’s south pole on Saturday morning, but it fell short of a distance of 2.1 km.
However, the Orbiter is in place and is capturing visuals.
