Hyderabad shooter asks for more facilities in #AskKTR session

Hyderabad: The recently concluded #AskKTR session on Twitter, organised by Telangana IT and Industry Minister KT Rama Rao has helped him connect with many citizens and their queries. Among the many requests, a shooter requested the minister for more facilities across Hyderabad for the sport.

The shooter, Akhilesh Reddy Singi Reddy, urged KTR for better facilities across the city, as he ended up travelling most of the time than practising. In the pursuit of bettering his skills, Akhilesh went from Gachibowli to ECIL every day, which is a distance of 36 km on a two-wheeler.

In this process, Akhilesh says that he ended up spending more money, besides five hours in traffic for a practice session of just two hours. He describes his situation as the least effective. He also noted that the current facility doesn’t hold the proper equipment and it has not been upgraded since its inception.

He added that while the country has produced world champions in shooting, a lack of proper facilities could cause grave hindrances. He requested KT Rama Rao on the microblogging site to intervene in this matter and solve it.

Thousands of people, including Akhilesh, posted questions on Twitter using the hashtag #AskKTR on December 29. A few minutes after 4 pm on the day, #AskKTR topped the trending list on Twitter with posts varying from grievances to wishes.
