Sreemukhis Big loss proof that sexism exists: Anchor Jhansi

Hyderabad: When singer Rahul Sipligunj was declared the winner of the third season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss Telugu, it left the fans, friends and family of anchor-actor Sreemukhi shell-shocked. While Rahul was always perceived as a lazy contestant, Sreemukhi was one of the most energetic inmates of the Bigg Boss 3 house among all the contestants, earning monikers like 'firecracker' and 'loudspeaker'.

Palpable heartburn apart, noted actor Jhansi sought to link Sreemukhi's loss to a larger social issue: gender bias. She took to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction and said the Bigg Boss result indicated that sexism exists even in such reality shows.

"No wonder Sreemukhi lost it to a man. A country like America itself rejected a lady candidate as the president in the elections. Its a proof that sexism exists", Jhansi's post which was written in Telugu meant. It also bore the hashtags #GenderBias and #Stereotypical. "You did your best, Sreemukhi," she added.

Sreemukhi, who narrowly lost the Bigg Boss 3 Telugu title, shared Jhansi's post on her Insta account, a subtle indication that she approves of the latter's opinion. Sreemukhi looked quite upset on the stage when Rahul Sipligunj was declared the winner of the title in big boss 3 telugu. She had said that she hates to fail, but would try to accept it as it is all a part of a game show.

Sreemukhi's family, fans, and friends nevertheless arranged a grand welcome party for her after the title announcement. Her way back home was full of fans and admirers cheering up on her. Sreemukhi too revelled in the celebrations as she is still one of the top two contestants of Bigg Boss Telugu 3.
