Sri Reddy in new controversy, Kalyani says actor made derogatory comments

Hyderabad: The cybercrime wing of Hyderabad police has registered a case against Tollywood actress Sri Reddy for allegedly making derogatory comments against another actor Karate Kalyani.

Kalyani, in her complaint, alleged that Sri Reddy had made derogatory comments against her on various social media platforms and they have been widely shared by several users. She demanded strict action against the actor and also requested the police to ensure that the content is withdrawn. Police have registered a case and assured her that action will be taken against whoever is responsible.

Sri Reddy was recently in the spotlight after she made casting couch allegations against several popular actors, including some big names in the industry. She also claimed that she was harassed by many actors and film personalities when she approached them for roles. She had also protested outside the film chamber at Jubilee Hills and stripped her clothes.

She also alleged that the Movie Artists Association of Tollywood denied her membership despite approaching them several times. Her allegations against the actors and MAA have triggered controversy not just in Tollywood but also in other film circles.

Case has been registered under section 67A of IT act and sections 506 and 509 of the IPC. In addition to those who made comments against the victim, action will be taken against all those users who had made comments supporting the derogatory comments and those who shared the content on their walls, said Cybercrime officials.
