Stepping into the shoes of Uma Maheswara was challenging: Satya Dev

Hyderabad: Actor Satyadev needs no introduction. The actor has been part of some really good films like Jyothilakshmi, Ghazi Attack, Antariksham, Bluff Master, iSmart Shankar and George Reddy. Also, he is being applauded for his versatile performance in Gods of Dharmapuri, a Telugu web series on Zee Telugu.

Recently, the first look of the actor from his upcoming film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya was unveiled and this was a surprise to all his fans and movie buffs. This film is the remake of Fahad Fasil’s Maheshinte Prathikaram, a Malayalam film. The remake project is being directed by Venkatesh Maha of C/o Kancherapalem fame and produced by the makers of Baahubali.

In an exclusive interview with NewsMeter, the actor said that he feels very lucky to have been working Arka Media works that has made a film like Baahubali. “I am falling short of words to express the feeling. I think it is the biggest thing that has happened to me. Working with those producers who have made Baahubali, what else can I ask for? I am sure this is going to be one of the most memorable and biggest films of my career,” said the actor.

To play Uma Maheswara, the proprietor of a photo studio in Araku Valley, the actor shed some kilos to get into the skin of the character. Also, he chose to stay calm and peaceful most of the time because that is what Uma is all about. This is something that was recommended by director Maha and Satya says that it helped him a lot in many ways and in doing his job really better.

Satya is someone who has been part of films which told us some great stories and the actor says that’s he looks for in every script that comes to him. He adds that Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is one such story.

“I have watched the film right then when it released and was amazed. When Maha came to with the script, I was like ‘wow’. I always want to tell some beautiful stories because I think like audiences and that’s what they come to the theatres for. Personally too, I love films which narrate heart-warming stories,” said the actor who is currently busy working on two big projects.

The film is slated for release on April 17, 2020, and the actor looks super confident on bagging another hit to his kitty. Also, he revealed that he will be next seen in Sarileru Neekevvaru and Rajamouli’s RRR which are two of the most awaited projects of 2020.
