TDP fields Chava Kiranmayi in Huzurnagar by-election

Hyderabad: Telangana unit of TDP has announced its candidate for the Huzurnagar by-election. The yellow party has fielded Chava Kiranmayi as its candidate. TTDP President L Ramana has handed over B Form to Kiranmayi.

“The TTDP party has decided to field Kiranmayi as she has worked committedly for the party. I ask the party cadre and all senior leaders to work united for the winning of Kiranmayi in the Huzurnagar by-election. TDP played a key role in the development of Telangana. Because of the then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts, the IT industry took off in Hyderabad. TDP has an avoidable relation with Telangana,” said Ramana.

Thanking TTDP and Chandrababu Naidu, Kiranmayi said that the victory story of TDP would begin from Huzurnagar by-election. “Naidu has put a great responsibility on me. I’ll work for the revival of the TDP’s old glory in Telangana,” said she.

On the other side, BJP has chosen Dr Kota Rama Rao for Huzurnagar by-election. BJP national working president JP Nadda has announced his name. The BJP-Telangana unit has sent names of Rama Rao and NRI Jaipal Reddy. However, BJP favoured Dr Rama Rao’s candidature. Dr Rao, who belongs to a BC community, resigned from his job three months ago and joined the saffron party.

CPM party announced Arepalli Shekhar Rao for the Huzurnagar by-election. “We’re discussing with CPI and TJS for their support in the forthcoming by-election,” said CPM.

TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy won from Huzurnagar Assembly election in December 2018. After winning as MP candidate in Nalgonda Lok Sabha election, Reddy resigned as the MLA. The Congress party is fielding Padmavathi Reddy, wife of Uttam Kumar Reddy, in the by-election.

Meanwhile, the ruling party TRS has retained its candidate Saidireddy, who lost to Uttam Kumar Reddy on December 2018, in Huzurnagar by-election.
