Teacher accused of sexually assaulting students in Chittoor school

Chittoor: A headteacher of Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) school sexually assaulted his students at Gudipalli under Kuppam mandal in Chittoor district. Ironically, the district administration had awarded the 'best teacher' award to the accused teacher, Gopal Pilai, a few months ago.

Gopal allegedly misbehaved with the female students of the school and sexually assaulted some minor girls. A few days ago, some victims told their parents of the harassment. On 10 March, a student's parents caught Gopal red-handed sexually assaulting a girl. Local people and some parents roughed up the teacher before handing him over to the police. The police have registered a case against Gopal under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and IPC and an investigation is underway.

A few weeks ago a man was arrested for sexually assaulting his daughter in Chittoor district. Recently, Naveen Kumar Reddy, a teacher at AP Model School at Mandapalli, was arrested for sexually assaulting a Class IX student.
