Telangana has 33 positive cases of COVID-19: Eatela Rajender

Hyderabad: Telangana's Health Minister Eatela Rajender confirmed that the state has 33 positive cases of COVID-19, as of March 23.

Speaking to media, the health minister said that the three new cases include one person who has come from Sri Lanka. The other two patients are from Somajiguda and Gachibowli respectively.

The most recent case is of a 56-year-old businessman, who is a resident of Kukatpally. He had a travel history from Sri Lanka.

The other two patients include a 25-year-old student, with a travel history from London. He is a resident of Gachibowli. The third case is of a 20-year-old student, who is a resident of Somajiguda. He has a travel history from New York.

Telangana witnesses six new cases in a single day

With this, Telangana has witnessed six new cases in a single day. Out of all the three positive cases, 31 have a travel history, while two people had caught the disease through contact.

Earlier today, three new corona cases were confirmed in the state.

While two of the three new patients have a foreign travel history, the most recent case had maintained contact with the group from Indonesia, according to health officials.

All the three cases have been admitted in Gandhi hospital, one of the nodal centres for coronavirus in the state.

The three new patients include a 21-year-old man who had returned from France, a 30-yesr-old man who had returned from London and a 23-year-old man who was in contact with the group from Indonesia.
