Telangana IMS scam mastermind, Devika Rani placed under suspension

Hyderabad: Ch Devika Rani, who is facing charges for masterminding the multi-crore scam in Telanagana Insurance Medical Services was placed under suspension by the state government. Orders to this effect were issued on Thursday. In turn, the government has appointed Ahmad Nadeem, who is holding full additional charge as Commissioner of Labour, is appointed to the post of Director, Insurance Medical Services, with Full Additional Charge (FAC).

After careful consideration of the available material and having due regard to the circumstances of the case against Devika Rani, the government is satisfied that it is necessary to place her under suspension in public interest. She will be deemed under suspension from the date of her arrest by Anti Corruption Bureau on September 27, said a GO issued on Thursday.

In addition to this, six more officials who were involved in the scam along with Devika Rani were also placed under suspension.

Meanwhile, ACB is continuing the investigation and has so far questioned numerous government and private persons, who are believed to have vital information about the scam. Further, after gathering strong evidence, more arrests are likely to take place.
