UK Sinha Committee terms T-Hub as a role model for other states

Hyderabad: Telangana state government has received appreciation from the UK Sinha Committee for its support of policy and infrastructure to startups. Ever since Telangana state formation in June 2014, the TRS government achieved remarkable progress in promoting startups and the startup model developed by the then IT minister KT Rama Rao can be replicated in other states, observes the Committee.

The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has formed the expert committee on MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise). UK Sinha is a former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). The Committee in its report further added that “Telangana has adopted an innovative model for startups. Such initiatives and policy framework can be assessed for possible replication in other States. The Committee in June 2019 submitted its report to the RBI Governor.

After the submission of the report, Union Transport Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari said that the Centre would l consider the recommendations of the report soon. The Committee, under Sinha’s chairmanship, interacted with various stakeholders across the country and international experts as well before submitting the report. The Committee also deliberated on all aspects relating to startups in India.

The Committee report further validates what Mr KT Rama Rao often says that “What Telangana does today, the nation does it tomorrow.”

The Committee in its report suggested for leveraging technology for accelerating the IT sector's growth rate. It has also suggested the need of long-term solutions for the economic and financial sustainability of the MSME sector.

Telangana has always believed in being a role model for others in the startup industry.
