Telangana reports 8 new cases, 67 positive in state
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 March 2020 5:24 PM GMTHyderabad: As the nation-wide cases for Coronavirus has now crossed 1000, Telangana recorded 8 new cases in the state on Saturday. The state also reported its first death with a 74-year-old breathing his last in Khairatabad. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 67. Ten among the 67 cases have been tested negative. They will again be tested tomorrow and if they test negative, will be discharged.
Health Minister Eatala Rajender addressing the media said that 8 new positive cases have been reported today and the main reason behind the increasing number of cases is due to the infection that one member in the family has and that it spreads to the rest of the family members.
Citing the same, he said that four from one family have been infected in Qutubullapur of Medchal district and 6 of a family have been tested positive in Old city. He also said that both the patients had gone to Delhi for a religious practice. He then asked people returning from foreign countries to be responsible and get checked and follow the rukes given by the government inorder to make the state, a safe place to live in.
The minister also ruled out all the speculations of certain areas in the city being termed as 'Red Zone'. He said that there is no such red zone in Hyderabad and false news shouldn't be spread and believed.
He also assured the people that there are enough facilities in the state to cure patients and there is absolutely no need to panic. All the patients admitted ars stable and are recovering.
