Telangana Road Transport Authority suspends actor Rajashekar’s license for six months

Hyderabad: Road Transport Authority suspended actor Rajashekar’s driving license for six months. The suspension followed a letter written by Cyberabad Traffic authorities to RTA for permanent cancellation.

Tollywood actor Dr Rajashekar has been accused in an accident case. On November 13, the actor, while returning home from Ramoji Film City, had a narrow escape on the Outer Ring Road. His Mercedes car hit the median, turned turtle, and fell on the opposite lane of the ORR. The vehicle was completely damaged in the process.

Passengers travelling on the opposite lane noticed the accident and came to his rescue. They identified actor Rajashekar and pulled him out, along with a passenger. Cyberabad traffic cops cited ‘over speeding’ to be the cause of the accident.

An investigation of the accident revealed that there are 21 challans issued against the Mercedes, of which 19 were for over-speeding. In one particular case, the vehicle reportedly travelled at a speed of 160 kmph.

The letter addressed to the RT stated, “It is to inform that Dr Rajashekar on November 13 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner. The vehicle hit the median, but no fatal accidents occurred. The probe revealed over speeding to be the cause of the accident.” The Cyberabad police sought a permanent cancellation of the actor’s driving license, but the RTA suspended it for six months.

Reportedly, Kukatpally resident Mr Abhilash Pedakotla’s license has been suspended for six months as well. The latter is accused of the first accident in the Biodiversity flyover. On November 10, Abhilash, in an inebriated condition, took to the flyover. His car (Hyundai i20, bearing no TS08FY 1069) hit a bike from behind, killing two on the spot and injured four.

Sources in the enforcement agency told NewsMeter that the family of Kalvakuntla Krishna Milan Rao are not cooperating in the investigation. The family has not submitted the driving license of Milan despite repeated reminders. “The Court stayed the arrest of Krishna Milan Rao, not the further investigation. The family has not been cooperating with the law enforcement and taking the shield of the judiciary,” said a senior officer.

The High Court stayed the arrest of Kalvakuntla Krishna Milan Rao until January 3.
