Telanganas 41st COVID-19 patient is a 3 YO who had traveled to Saudi

Hyderabad : Telangana's 41st COVID-19 patient is a 3 year-old child, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia. This is the first case, so far, where a minor has tested positive for CoronaVirus.

On March 25 , two more COVID-19 cases were reported in Telangana. With this, the total number of cases stands at 41 ( to note the first patient has been discharged and recovering).

According to the latest health bulletin, Patient (40), Is a 43 year -old female from Hyderabad. She is the family/ (primary contact) of a positive case. The patient does not have any history of international travel, but came in contact with a 49 year old man, who had traveled to London. Both are residents of Kokapet. While patient (41) is a 3yrs old male child with a history of travel from Saudi Arabia.

With this the total number of local transmitted cases are 6 . The patients are kept in isolation wards in Gandhi and Ronald Rose Fever Hospital. On Wednesday alone, 50 suspected were admitted to isolation wards, taking the total figure to 813. Out of the them, 40 are active cases.

Meanwhile, an undated video of a woman showing isolation ward at Fever Hospital has gone viral in Hyderabad. In the video, she complains about lack of facilities in the hospital.

"We were not informed that I and my husband have been tested positive. We came to know through television channels. No doctor has attended us. We haven’t been given any treatment till now," she alleged

Figures reveal that there are around 539 positive cases in the country. Eight of them have recovered in Maharashtra. Delhi has not recorded new cases for the past 45 hours.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown to break the chain of the virus. He requested people to stay indoors and not cross the "Laxman Rekha" in order to fight the coronavirus.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao warned the people against breaking the lockdown and threatened to deploy the army and give a shoot at sight orders to impose restrictions.
