Tharoor slams Pak on J&K issue

New Delhi : On Monday Congress leader Shashi Tharoor came down on Pakistan, saying that they have no right to point a finger at India on the Kashmir issue. Speaking to reporters, the Congress MP from Kerala said, “We are in opposition and we can criticise the government. But outside India we are one. We will not give even an inch to Pakistan.”

His statement comes after Pakistan's repeated verbal attacks on India after the scrapping of the special status for Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on Monday, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Mehmood Shah had pointed out that Pakistan will raise Kashmir issue in the 42nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which will begin today.

Tharoor while launching an attack on Pakistan said, “Pakistan has no locus standi as far as India's internal matters are concerned. What they are trying to accuse us of today, they have done that on their side in the past. Pakistan changed the status of Gilgit-Baltistan and PoK, who gave them the right to point a finger towards us?"

Tharoor further added that the concerns in the Kashmir are real and that the Opposition will continue to raise them against the Centre.
