Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, the Member of Parliament (BJP) from the Ladakh Constituency has become an overnight sensation across all media platforms for his speech regarding the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir at the Lok Sabha. Namgyal has been working for student rights in Ladakh and has been the leader of All Ladakh Students Association from 2011-2012. His journey from a student leader to an MP of one of the biggest constituencies in India is one to remember for a long time.

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was born on 4th August 1985 to Sh. Stanzin Dorjey & Smt. Isha Putit. He passed his 12th examinations from the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh. Later he completed his graduation from Jammu University. Before joining Politics, he had worked as an Art Teacher for 2 years. He has also served as the Private Secretary to the MP from Ladakh, Shri Thupstan Chhewang. He was elected as the Member of Parliament from the Ladakh Constituency, this general election in 2019.

On being given an opportunity in Lok Sabha on 6th August, Jamyang Namgyal started his speech with the 71-year-old history that Ladakh carries. He then spoke about the then Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and his decision of not making Ladakh, a Union Territory. In his 20 minutes long speech, he covered various difficulties that Ladakh had faced for the past 7 decades. Not being made as a Union Territory, not having a Central University or higher means of education, on not being given the funds that the Congress government promised, on not being offered jobs to the youth, on not being given even a single district, on not recognizing the Ladakhi Language ( Bhoti or Bodhi ) in the 6th schedule of the Indian Constitution, on misusing the Article 370 and bashing the Kasmiri Pandits out of Jammu & Kashmir and many more issues. He fired straight forward shots at the Congress Government for not giving equal preference to Ladakh as they gave to Jammu & Kashmir. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving Ladakh, what it rightly deserved from the past 71 years.

His speech has made a lot of Headlines and has made him the newest emerging leader of the nation.

The Ladakh Region usually makes news regarding its beautiful mountains or the motorcycle-friendly road trips that people from all over the country go to. But this time around, Namgyal has gathered a lot of headlines towards his side by raising his voice for the people of Ladakh.
