Thipparthi mandal in Nalgonda dist registers first Covid-19 case

Nalgonda: A 20-year-old tested positive for Covid-19 in Pajjuur village of Tipparthi Mandal of Nalgonda distric.Two weeks ago, his elder brother got married and a few relatives attended the wedding.
According to the health officials of Nalgonda district, the youngster from Pajjur village had gone to a private hospital in Nalgonda with pain in abdomen. As the issue was complicated, he was referred to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad, where he was advised to undergo a surgical procedure. Before going for the surgical procedure, as per the protocol, his samples were collected and tested for Covid -19.
On Monday, the results showed he was positive for Covid-19. Though the source of the virus is not known, it is suspected that he got it during his brother’s wedding.
After the day his brother got married, a jatara was held in the village in which a large number of people participated. The youngster too attended the jatara along with his family.
As this is the first Covid case in the village, the entire village was home quarantined.
The samples of the newly-wed youth, his wife and around eight of their family members were collected and sent for testing today. The results are awaited.
