Thirty techies caught drunk driving in Cyberabad

Hyderabad: Repeated appeals from police and awareness campaigns to not drink and drive, seem to have little effect on city motorists. Hefty fines and jail sentences are also having trouble deterring these drunk drivers. This fact is based on the number of people caught driving under the influence from Thursday to Saturday under Cyberabad Commissionerate.

As many as 30 techies were among 236 people caught in traffic checks during these three days. There were also eight students, two GHMC staffers, three yoga trainers and two government employees amidst the offending drivers. Of the many that were caught, 105 people were in the age group of 21-30, while three of them were aged above 60 years.

While the permissible BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) limit is 30, 103 people were found to have between 50 and 100 BAC. Astoundingly, four were found with BAC level above 300.
