Three cricket bookies arrested at Upparpally, Rs 5.6L stake money seized

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police have arrested three bookies for running cricket betting racket at Upparpally in the limits of Rajendranagar Police Station.

Police seized an amount of Rs 5,60,000, five mobile phones and two bikes.

The arrested men have been identified as Mahendra Kumar Soni,39, Kuldeep Singh,24, and Rajesh Masnaji Surya,23. They were arrested red-handed while exchanging money for betting.

Main bookie Chandra Pal Singh, his associates Amit and Naresh Singh are absconding.

“In view of the ongoing IPL, special operation team, Shamshabad Zone of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate has been keeping a watch on the activities of betting gangs and individuals indulging in this illegal activity. As a result, the SOT Shamshabad Zone received reliable information about one professional cricket betting gang at Rajendranagar. A raid was conducted and three people were arrested,” said Cyberabad Police.
