Three third party employees of Hyderabad Amazon arrested for cheating

Hyderabad: Three Amazon retail third party employees who had been allegedly cheating the organisation by resorting to irregularities in booking and delivering products were arrested at Shamshabad in Hyderabad on 19 February. H. Sai Kumar, S. Kalyan, and C.H Raju work in the Amazon Fulfillment center in different departments.

Police seized two HP laptops, six new iPhones, and three One Plus phones that they had obtained from the fulfillment center. According to the police, Amazon’s fulfillment center is located at GMR airport city in Mamidipally village in Shamshabad. From here, electronic products, mobile phones, and laptops are packed and sent for delivery.

Sai Kumar worked in the packing department, Kalyan in the triangular department, and Raju worked in the slam department in the same location. Not satisfied with their earnings they hatched a conspiracy to make easy money through illegal means.

Accordingly, they started placing orders for small-value products like body lotion to be delivered to their residences. When the order details arrived at the fulfillment center for packing and delivery, the three instead of packing the body lotions, packed mobile phones, laptops, and other products and the same were delivered to their homes.

In the same manner, the trio had managed to get iphones, HP laptops, and One Plus phones. The issue came to light during an internal audit, after which the company representatives approached the police and a cheating case was registered. Based on CCTV footage and other evidence, police found the three were cheating the company and arrested Amazon employees and seized the products.

"The three accused persons are not Amazon's direct employees. They work with a third party company that provides service for Amazon," said Spokesperson, Amazon Hyderabad.
