Three including woman Maoist surrender

Visakhapatnam: Two Maoists, including a woman who had cash rewards on their heads surrendered before the cops at the district police office in Vizag city on Saturday. The Maoists turned themselves citing disappointment with the movement.

The Maoist who surrendered are Boda Anjayya alias Bhaskar alias Naveen, 30, a divisional committee member (DCM) cadre Maoist, Korra Venkata Rao alias Srikanth, 29, and Sindri Kandhri alias Jeevan Jyothi alias Savithri, 25, both ACM cadre Maoists.

Superintendent of police, Visakha Rural, Attada Babujee said, “Anjayaa a native of Nalgonda in Telangana was the DCM cadre Maoist of the East Division Area (coffee committee) and was involved in over 23 offences, including three murders. There was a cash reward of Rs 6 lakh on his head.”

Venkata Rao and Sindri Kandhri both natives of Koyyuru mandal in Vizag Agency had a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh each on their heads. Both were active members of Galikonda and Pedabayalu area committees, a banned outfit. The duo is involved in over 10 offences.

The police said that Maoists activities were under control in Vizag Ageny and along the Andhra Odisha Border (AOB). Tribals have lost faith in Maoists as they kill innocent tribals by branding them police informers, added the police.
