Three of a family, biker die in road mishap in Chittoor district

Chittoor: Four persons, including a two-wheeler rider and three persons in a car, died on the spot after the car hit the two-wheeler and later, the car rammed into a lorry at high speed from behind, getting trapped under the heavy vehicle near Mogali area under Bangarupalem Mandal in Chittoor district on Sunday.

The incident took place when four persons of a family were heading towards Nellore from Bengaluru in their car.

The deceased were identified as Srinivas Reddy (55), his wife Ratnamma (50) and his son Venkatesh Reddy (29) while his daughter-in-law Sirisha suffered injuries in the incident.

The police are yet to establish the identity of the rider of the two-wheeler.

The police said that the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle due to over-speeding and rammed the two-wheeler and lorry at high speed. Under the impact of the accident, the car was fully mangled. The police took out the bodies from the damaged car after hours of effort.

The injured, Sirisha, was admitted to a hospital, where her condition is said to be out of danger.

The bodies have been shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigation is on to ascertain the identity of the biker.
