Three of family killed after car falls into canal in Nalgonda

Hyderabad: Three members of a family were killed when their car plunged into a canal in the Nalgonda district of Telangana on Thursday.
The victims were returning home from a wedding when the incident occurred. The deceased have been identified as Orsu Rangaiah, 45, his wife Alivelu,38, and their daughter Keerthi, 13. Locals however rescued their son from drowning.
Hailing from Vadderigudem village of PA Pally Mandal, the family had gone to attend a wedding of a relative in the neighboring village. On Thursday morning, when they were returning home, one of the car tyres burst. Rangaiah, who was driving the car, lost control and fell into the AMRP canal.
Passersby immediately rushed to the spot and with the help of villagers started a rescue operation. A crane was also deployed to pull out the car. But by the time the car was pulled out, Rangaiah, his wife and daughter were dead.
PA Pally Police have registered a case and started investigation.
