Thunderstorm, light rain expected in parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rain and lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 1, 4, and 5 April. According to the Indian Meteorological department (IMD), several districts, including Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal , and Mancherial in Telangana and Andhra will see thunderstorm and lightning.

During the past 24 hours, Badrachalam district in Telangana recorded rainfall of 0.8mm. The highest maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nalgonda, while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Medak. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, the maximum temperature was 37.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 26.2 degrees Celsius.

This year Adilabad has received the highest rainfall, 11cm, while Hyderabad has received a total rainfall of 7cm since January 2020.

In Andhra, during the last 24 hours, Kalingapatnam received a rainfall of 1.8 mm. Visakhapatnamap received the year’s highest rainfall of 14 cm. The highest maximum temperature of 38.9 degrees Celsius was recorded at Amaravati and the lowest minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jangamaheswarapuram.

In the Rayalseema region, dry weather is likely to prevail from 3 to 5 March, with the maximum temperature likely to be two to three degrees Celsius above normal in some areas.
