Tiktok friendship ends in tragedy, Youth ends life

Hyderabad: A youth who befriended a girl through the TikTok app allegedly committed suicide on Saturday. The victim was identified as Sai, 24, from Erragadda of Hyderabad.
Sai was working as a delivery boy in Hyderabad and the girl is from Kurnool town. The two became friends a few months ago through Tik Tok app. Over a period of time, they became close friends. Taking advantage of this friendship, Sai asked the girl for her jewellery and mortgaged them for his personal needs. He assured the girl that he would return her jewellery. When the girl asked her jewellery back he did not respond. Worried, the girl informed her parents, after which the girl’s father lodged a complaint with the Kurnool police alleging that Sai had cheated their daughter. A case was registered and the police called Sai over the phone and enquired about the jewellery.
Worried about the call from the Kurnool police, Sai allegedly committed suicide at his residence on Saturday. SR nagar police registered a case and investigation is on.
