The video shows a resident medical officer of the hospital operating on a patient assisted by four other surgeons. The music from the recently released movie Bigil plays in the background. While the doctors denied making the video, it is not clear who made it. It was uploaded by a TikTok user Venu Goud.
The video has triggered controversy among netizens who have called it "insensitive", among other allegations. Incidentally, Huzurabad, which falls in Karimnagar district, is the constituency of state health minister Eatela Rajender.
In July 2019, two physiotherapy students came under the scanner for making a TikTok video shot on the premises of Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad. The video in which the two students could be seen dancing had garnered a lot of attention from netizens and had gone viral on social media. The videos, which were allegedly shot from the physiotherapy department of Gandhi hospital, had later led to the student-interns being suspended. The hospital authorities had put forth a statement that the students were from a private institution and were pursuing their internship at Gandhi Hospital.
