Congress candidate Naveen Yadav declares Rs 30 crore assets, 3 criminal cases
Hyderabad: Congress nominee for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll, V Naveen Yadav, has declared assets worth nearly Rs 30 crore and seven criminal cases against him, according to his election affidavit filed with the Returning Officer.
His spouse, V Varsha Yadav, has declared assets of around Rs 8 crore, along with liabilities amounting to Rs 75 lakh.
Criminal cases include bribery and cheating
As per the affidavit, Yadav is facing three criminal cases, including one related to bribery and undue influence during elections. The cases are registered at the Madhura Nagar and Jubilee Hills Police Stations.
A case was booked under Sections 123(1) and 123(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and Sections 170, 171, 174 of the BNS — about bribery, undue influence and illegal inducements during elections.
A case was registered under Section 506 of IPC — criminal intimidation. Another case was registered under Crime No. 395 of 2006, Jubilee Hills Police Station — booked under Sections 406, 420, and 506 of IPC for criminal breach of trust, cheating, and intimidation.

Crime No. 395/2006 – Jubilee Hills PS – Criminal breach of trust, cheating and intimidation – summons not yet served.
While one case is currently under investigation, charges have been framed in the remaining two.
Declared assets touch Rs 30 crore
Yadav’s affidavit reveals movable and immovable assets worth approximately Rs 30 crore. He holds investments in Kasturi Naveen Infrastructures Private Limited, Naveen Praveen Developers Pvt Ltd, and YJR Infra and Realtors LLP.
The declaration also lists multiple agricultural and non-agricultural properties spread across Sangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Hyderabad districts.
His spouse, Varsha Yadav, has declared total assets of around Rs 8 crore, including gold jewellery worth over Rs 2.2 crore and silver valued at Rs 22.75 lakh.
Liabilities and financial profile
The couple’s total liabilities amount to Rs 75 lakh. Yadav’s declared income for FY 2024–25 stands at Rs 19.51 lakh, while Varsha Yadav’s income for FY 2023–24 is Rs 7.82 lakh, showing steady growth over the past few years.
Educational and professional background
As per her poll affidavit, Naveen Yadav (41) is a native of Hyderabad. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from CSIIT, Begumpet, Hyderabad, completed in 2007.
After graduation, he began engaging in community initiatives and youth-centric programs, marking the start of his journey in public life.
Leadership in social and sports initiatives
Naveen has held key leadership roles in social and sports organisations, including:
- President, State Yadava Student Wing.
- President, Telangana Throwball Association.
- Founder and President, NGO Nav Yuva Nirman.
Early political career
In 2009, at the age of 25, Naveen joined AIMIM, quickly making his mark within the party. His dedication caught the attention of AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, who offered him a ticket to contest the 2014 MLA elections from Jubilee Hills constituency.
Electoral journey
2014 MLA elections (AIMIM): Naveen contested at the age of 30, securing 41,656 votes and finishing second. He outperformed the Congress candidate but lost to the TDP-BJP alliance candidate by 9,000 votes. Naveen was the youngest contestant in the fray.
2018 MLA elections (Independent): Running as an independent candidate due to internal party dynamics, Naveen garnered 18,856 votes during a brief 10-day campaign, setting a record for independent candidates in Hyderabad.
Recent political developments
In 2023, Naveen Yadav joined the Congress party and served as the election in-charge for the Jubilee Hills constituency, further solidifying his political presence in the region.
