‘Stand with her’: Women safety is social responsibility, says CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Calling all men to champion women's right and safety chief minister A Revanth Reddy launched the "Stand With Her" campaign on the eve of International Women's Day.
The CM his administration's goal to establish Telangana as the premier state for women’s empowerment and protection in India.
Addressing a gathering of youth and policymakers, the Chief Minister emphasized that the fight for gender equality cannot be won by laws and police monitoring alone. He called for a shift in the social fabric of the state, urging the younger generation to take the lead.
Youth as Brand Ambassadors
The Chief Minister made a direct appeal to the state's youth, asking them to act as brand ambassadors for women's protection. "Protection of women is possible only when we all consider it a social responsibility," the CM stressed. "Every woman in society should be respected just as we respect members of our own families," he said.
A significant portion of the CM’s address focused on the "worrying factor" of rising cybercrimes. He noted that while social media has connected the world, it has also provided new avenues for harassment. He urged citizens to stand firm against digital exploitation and gender discrimination.

Beyond the Kitchen
CM Revanth Reddy challenged traditional gender roles, stating that women should no longer be "confined to the kitchen." Instead, the government is facilitating their entry into high-stakes industries.
Key Empowerment Initiatives Highlighted:
Energy Sector: Encouraging women-led solar power generation to compete with industrial giants.
Transportation: Beyond free RTC travel, women’s groups are being encouraged as owners of 1,000 RTC buses and operators of petrol pumps.
Housing & Finance: Directing Indiramma houses and ration cards to be issued in women’s names, alongside increased loans for self-help groups (SHGs).
Education: Honoring the fighting spirit of women by naming the Women’s University after the legendary Chakali Ilamma.
A Legacy of Leadership
The CM also highlighted the Congress party’s historical role in elevating women to the highest offices in the land—including President, Prime Minister, and Lok Sabha Speaker—reiterating that political representation is the cornerstone of progress.
By integrating economic independence with a robust social safety campaign, the Telangana government aims to create an environment where women can excel in all fields, from entrepreneurship to public service.
