Tourism wing rolls out Road cum River cruise from Hyderabad to Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam

Hyderabad: With an aim to give a big boost to the tourism sector, the Telangana government has come out with a new ‘Road-cum-River’ cruise tour package that would connect Hyderabad, Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar.

Telangana Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud, TSTDC (Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation) chairman P Bhoopati Reddy, and MD, TSTDC B Manohar flagged off the first bus as part of the new tour package here on Saturday.

The Tourism department is offering the two-day ‘Road Cum River Cruise’ tour package at Rs 2,399 per person including transport, tea, vegetarian lunch and non-AC accommodation at Srisailam. The department announced the package few days ago. Within a short span of time, it received numerous enquiries including 34 booking confirmations for the first trip,

The Toursim department offers this package tour on weekends. It’ll offer the tour service on other days for group bookings. The tourism bus departures from Hyderabad at 7:30 am and will return at 8 pm on the second day. The places covered as part of this package include Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, Srisailam temple, Saakshi Ganapathi temple, Srisailam dam, Pathala Ganga and Farhabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Srinivas Goud stated that Telangana has been making rapid forays in the Tourism sector after the formation of the state. Customised tour packages of Kaleshwaram project, Road-cum-River Cruise tour packages to unexplored tourist destinations have started to show a big difference as footfalls are gradually increasing.
