Touts operating at RGI airport, nabbed during cordon and search operation

Hyderabad : In the ongoing drive against illegal activities and touts operating at RGI airport and to ensure the safety of all passengers at the airport, a cordon and search operation was conducted by the Cyberabad police at the airport on Friday evening. Five persons indulged in touting were detained and three cars that were plying in the area without proper permission from the authorities concerned were seized during the

operation.

The operation was conducted at the arrival area and international departure area at the airport. The search was conducted by more than 100 personnel headed by DCP Shamshabad N Prakash Reddy. This is for the safety of the passengers and also to control the activities of illegal vehicle operators, who fleece the public by collecting exorbitant amounts by force, said the DCP.

The anti-touting drives at the airport are being conducted

regularly by the Cyberabad police to curb vehicles and drivers operating without proper approvals. Police have urged the public and the passengers at the airport to use registered cabs and not to avail the services of private and unauthorised cabs that offer services under the guise of cheap rates.

He urged the public to make use of registered vehicles only to travel to or from the airport. Moreover, the entire premises are under electronic surveillance and more CCTV cameras will be installed to better the security aspects for the people, he said.
