Hyderabad: Trailer of the eagerly-awaited Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey, is out. It has impressed many celebs, critics and movie-goers, whose expectations have also increased.

Slated for January 10 release, the film, directed by Meghna Gulzar, revolves around acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Deepika took to her social media handle to share the trailer and posted an emotional message. She wrote, “Rarely do you come across a story where you do not need an entire narration to decide if you want to be a part of a film or not. What is even more rare is to not be able to articulate and put into words what you feel for the film and its journey…Chhapaak is all of that and more for me…

It is a social drama that revolves around a woman called Malti, who was attacked with acid on the streets of Delhi in 2005. The trailer looks super good.

Besides playing the lead role Deepika is co-producing it with Govind Singh Sandhu and Meghna Gulzar, under Fox Star Studios, KA Productions, Mriga Films, Absolute Productions and Padukone Films. Vikrant Massey will be seen playing the husband of Deepika.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of how bold the story will be. The production values are high and the story appears to be a hard-hitting one and almost every woman can relate to the story.
