Transgenders beat up auto driver for alleged rape attempt

Hyderabad: A group of transgenders beat up an auto driver alleging that he has sexually abused one of them. The incident took place on Tuesday night when the victim boarded an auto-rickshaw. However, the victim escaped from suspects clutches and carried the matter to other transgenders. The suspect identified as Mahesh, a resident of Bachupally was taken under custody and is being questioned.

Talking to Newsmeter, Inspector P. Jagadeeshwar, Bachupally Police Station, said, “The FIR is yet to be filed and we are still examining the facts behind the case. The victim said that the auto driver snatched money from her and did not make a rape allegation yet, he added.

A video of the incident went viral on social media in which a group of transgenders are seen beating up the auto driver at Bachupally signal.
