The parliamentarian has referred to a representation by K M Govind Raju, president of Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities contract carriage bus owners association. “The transport industry in Telangana is on a verge of a total collapse. Number of transport operators have lost their business nearly 5 to 6 lakhs people employed by them have lost their livelihood. The entire country is under lockdown 3 however the transport operators in Telangana are still under undeclared lockdown” said the Parliamentarian.

Barrister Owaisi requested the Chief Minister to exempt the motor vehicle tax in Telangana during the period of COVID lockdown. He explained, “The transport operators somehow managed the necessary expenses and also retained the staff by paying those remunerations even for the lockdown period.
