Transport minister Ajay Kumar escapes unhurt in road accident

Hyderabad: Telangana transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar escaped unhurt when his car hit the pilot vehicle of his convoy at Banjara Hills of Hyderabad on Monday morning.

The incident occurred when the minister was on his way to Chief Minister’s camp office at Pragati Bhavan to wish K Chandra Sekhar Rao on his birthday.

Sources said Ajay Kumar was travelling in the car through the Vengal Rao Park towards Punjagutta stretch.

The driver of a pilot vehicle in the minister’s five vehicle convoy stopped the vehicle suddenly in an attempt to avoid hitting a biker who abruptly came in his way. As a result, the driver of the vehicle tailing the pilot vehicle could not control and crashed into it.

The pilot vehicle and minister’s car were badly damaged. The minister who was in the car escaped unhurt in the incident.

Banjara Hills police have registered a case and started investigation. The damaged vehicles were shifted to the police station. Later the minister boarded another vehicle.
